"Pueblocore" is a word I thought of during the rise of "-core" on the online / internet discourses and trends. "Pueblo" translates to village or town, being born and raised in a mountainous region in Oaxaca, Mexico for the first 8 years of my life, I walk around with many sensory memories that continuously ripple to my present when creating art. As more visuals are added to Pueblocore, I recognize it as my safe childhood space; when I overthink photography, and let the pressure of art making in this current climate get to me, I always go back to the "basics" to remember all over again why I enjoy photography.
